If you want to get rid of pesky acne scars, you should live religiously under the 3 stages:
1) Exfoliate: choose a light face scrub. The one above is a personal favorite because it smells just like green tea when you apply it. It is important not to scrub too vigorously because your skin is sensitive and you will end up peeling and/or drying out our face.
2) Mask: use a mask that targets acne especially. It will clear out your pores, reduce further breakout, and make your skin radiant. You’ll get rid of those nasty blackheads and leave your face feeling fresh and renewed.
3) Healthy Oil: lastly, apply argan oil (or bio oil) to areas with scars. Argan oil is really good for your skin even though it may be a bit costly. I think bio oil will be easier on your wallet. But if you want the best, argan oil cannot be beat. It not only fades acne scars, it keeps your skin moisturized and it also doubles as a stretch mark fading applicant (results may vary).
Exfoliate every morning and night, Mask 3 times a week, and Oil every night before going to bed.
Note: for those who tend to have dry skin, you might want to reduce masking to 1-2 times a week. Also, find a light sunscreen to wear because anytime you use a product with salicylic acid, it will have a drying/peeling effect especially under sunlight.
My complete face regimen:
exfoliate with St. Ives Green Tea Scrub
1 pump of Shiseido’s hydro-balancing softener (alcohol free)
1 pump of Shiseido’s Intensive Spot Targeting Serum+
a dime sized amount of Shiseido’s Ultimate Sun Protection Cream for the Face (Water Resistant SPF 55)
Clear Prep FX Matte Foundation Primer & Anti-Acne Treatment Gel
Josie Maran’s Foundation with Argan Oil inside
Once I get home from daily activities, I apply the Mint Julep Masque
Right before I sleep, I exfoliate again with St. Ives
Lightly rub in Josie Maran’s 100% Pure Argan Oil wherever necessary
(I use a lot of Shiseido because it caters very well to “East Asian” skin)
